My database is organized by the Webley serial number stamped on the barrels. In my database, I have double rifles built by Webley for Holland & Holland, John Rigby, Lang (Lang was owned by the Webley brothers for a time), William Evans (pre-war DRs almost exclusively from Webley, although I did find one from Wilkes), Army & Navy, Manton, Charles Lancaster, Alexander Henry, George Gibbs, Churchill, Horton, London Sporting Park, etc. The rifle above is an A & W C 1st, which was Webley's best boxlock DR. Webley built double rifles for the trade on five different dedicated DR actions, each of which is unique and easy to identify. ![]() Both were double rifle specialists to the trade. I've been researching the British double rifle trade makers for quite a while, with emphasis on those from Webley and Harry Leonard (who built many of W. They're among the very best boxlock DRs the British ever made. I'm a double rifle guy and have been shooting these Webley's for years.
